Mark Eakin (1957-2016)

The community of believers and the church family here at Trinity has suffered a tremendous loss. Our friend and fellow staffer, Mark Eakin, had a car accident on Tuesday evening. The injuries Mark suffered resulted in his death.

To say we are grieved or at a loss is an understatement. Mark meant a great deal to each person he came in contact with and he had a lot of contacts. Whether through choir, senior adult ministry, pastoral care, hospice care, hospital visitation, or other ministries, he was able to impact lives in a special way.

I will miss him. He was a friend to this pastor, a confidant, a fellow-pastor who understood the struggles well.

My heart breaks for his wife, Marie, and his son, Michael, as well as Jaxon, he and Marie’s grandson. No doubt he will be missed by the co-workers at Dierkson Hospice as well. We are caught by surprise, but our Lord is not ever surprised by these events. Please join with me in lifting his family up to the Lord at this time.

1 Thessalonians 4:13, “We grieve, but not as those who have no hope.”
