                                                                  Senior Adults (Trinity Troopers)

The Senior Adult Ministry exists to extend the transforming presence of Christ to the members of Trinity above age 55 by involving them in Worship, Prayer, Fellowship, Scripture Study, Mutual Ministry, and Outreach.

There is great joy found in the Lord as we grow past into the golden years of our lives.  The Trinity Troopers (Senior Adult Ministry) of Trinity Baptist Church are active in many facets of the church life.  This generation sometimes wanes in its commitment to service in most churches, but at Trinity we strive to keep you active. Under the leadership of Senior Adult Minister Charlie Elrod we are striving to have a balanced ministry from the Senior Adult section of our church.  Charlie has been in the ministry since 1983 serving several Southern Baptist churches in the capacity of youth, recreation, education, administration, and as an associate pastor.  Charlie earned his master of arts in religious education. He brings a needed blend to this vital ministry of our church life.
Our Mission in this ministry is to motivate adults fifty-five years and older to reach out to an ever increasing number of people in this age group with the gospel and encouraging them to be a part of a fellowship of believers, helping them to grow in their faith of Jesus Christ.

Trinity Trooper's Tuesday Morning Schedule is as follows:

 Golden Voice Singers practice - Tuesdays - 9AM

Bible Study and Luncheon - Tuesdays 11:30AM.
Lunch - Cost is $4.00 (We begin serving at 11:30 a.m.)

Golden Voice Singers is the Senior Adult Choir
and they meet every Tuesday at 12 Noon.
 (a sandwich luncheon follows each practice.)

                Announcements:

1.          TONIGHT after P.M. Service (7:00 PM) in the conference room -  All People going on Cruise – Final Meeting. Alaska Cruise is set for September 2-10, 2008!  Those going on the cruise, we will be leaving the church at 6:00 A.M. – Tuesday, September 2, 2008 – Check-in luggage needs to be at the church by 6:00 p.m. Monday, September 1^st (the day BEFORE we leave).

2.                Smoke on the Mountain – Gospel Musical comedy – Wednesday, August 27^th – Murry’s Dinner Playhouse - $10.00 deposit is due Today!  Cost is $40.  We will leave the church at 8:00 a.m.

3.               Thursday, August, 28 at 7:00 p.m. – Senior Adult Conference Planning Meeting in the church conference room.

4.                Tuesday, September 23^rd, 2008 – Golden Voice Singers and the Tuesday Morning Bible study (we will be finishing the Book of Daniel) and luncheon resumes.  There will be a special presentation regarding Identity Theft on this date by Senior Protection Agency. 

5.        Friday, October 3^rd – Canton Trade Days. Leave church at 7:30 a.m. Cost for Trip is $10.00.

6.             TRINITY TROOPER DINNER RESUMES – OCTOBER 7, 2008 at 6:00 PM in the chapel.  Mark Hall and Jason Page will be with us inspiring our hearts.  We ask that you bring a side dish or dessert.  Meat, Bread & Drinks will be provided.

7.        Beaver’s Bend Folk Festival – Friday, November 7^th – Leave church at 7:30 a.m.

8.         JUST IN:  Our Golden Voice Singers C.D.’s – Cost is $10.00.  We Still have some cookbooks left.  COST $12.00.

9.               Trinity Troopers Dinner, Tuesday, November 11 – 6:00 p.m.  Mike Powell, comedian and musician.

10.      Trinity Trooper Dinner, Tuesday, December 2^nd – Mid-South Boys.
